This is a presentation of bachelor thesis: The application of Unity game engine in landscape visual simulation-taking the garden display in the Song dynasty painting as an example.
In this research, the author begins with literal review of game engines and Unity's features, then analyzes Jie hua(界畫) and gardens in the Song Dynasty as reference for floor plan.
After that, this floor plan will be made into a 3D model and textualized. Finally, this model will be imported into Unity in compatible format before being customized for better visual effects and interactive options.
The result of this project will be made into a virtual reality software with Unity, in which features a garden designed according to Jie hua from the Song dynasty, and the users can visit or interact with. Nonetheless, this software also provides knowledge about features of Song gardens, Shan Shui painting and Jie hua.
The author is recently working on a URP remake.
