플랫포머와 메트로배니아를 어느 정도 결합한 게임. 뉴그라운즈나 인디 플랫포머에서 자주 볼 수 있는, 많은 적과 가시를 돌파하는 플랫포머를 스테이지로 구성한 것이 아니라 메트로배니아 방식(맵)으로 만들었다. 보스를 쓰러뜨리면 폼 변환을 할 수 있는데, 이를 사용해 이전에는 못 가던 지역을 갈 수 있는 메트로배니아 요소도 조금 첨가되어 있다. 게임 이름(Mombo)에서 알 수 있듯 이 게임은 콤보가 중요하다. 기본적으로 적들을 제한 시간 내에 모두 잡아 코인을 얻고 이로 문을 열어 진행하는 방식이다. 이 때문에 꽤 빠른 움직임이 필요하긴 하지만, 마리오의 동전과 같이 맵에 흩뿌려져 있는 보석을 얻으면 시간이 늘어나거나 콤보 시간을 늘리는 아이템이 있는 등 그렇게 어렵지는 않다. 일종의 제한 시간 시스템이 있는 플랫포머라 기본적으로 고난도 게임이지만, 캐릭터의 이동 능력이 굉장히 좋고 판정도 플레이어에게 유리하게 설정되어 있어 시원시원하게 플레이할 수 있다. 이런 방식의 플랫포머를 좋아하는 게이머라면 해볼 만하다.
