Built in sections throughout the mid-19th Century, the line between Dresden and Chemnitz faced treacherous terrain, gradients as steep as 2.6% were constructed through the valleys between Freiburg and Dresden making for a treacherous climb and descent for rail traffic. The line has also seen many sections rebuilt over the years to account for increasing demand and congestion. As of 2012, the line was already electrified, however was still served by diesel traction to connect with unelectrified lines beyond Chemnitz.
It’s your job to take control of the various services on this challenging route. Climb aboard the iconic DB BR 612, this 2-car diesel multiple unit is capable of tilting around corners, being able to achieve higher average speeds while maintaining passenger comfort on regional journeys. Keep commuters moving on the Dresden S-Bahn, running S3 services between Freiburg, Tharandt and Dresden with the DB BR 143. Haul freight with the on-lease Railpool BR 185.6, and take on the challenge of shunting from the quaint DB BR 363.

독일 동부의 켐니츠와 드레스덴을 잇는 노선. 메인 열차는 디젤에 틸팅 기능이 있는 열차지만, 노선의 난이도는 꽤 높은 편이다. 지방노선이라 곡선구간이 매우 많은 편이며, 그로 인해 곡선소음이 매우 시끄럽고, 주행 중 제한속도의 변동도 60-140km/h로 굉장히 들쑥날쑥한 편이다. 주행시간도 한 시간을 넘기며, 특히 가속이 지금까지의 독일 차량들처럼 높지가 않아 제한속도의 변동+처참한 가속도로 최악의 난이도를 자랑한다. 그럼에도 불구하고 풍경은 훌륭한 편이며, 제한속도의 가파른 변화는 자칫 지루할 수 있는 주행환경에 재미를 더해준다. 단점이라곤 곡선구간의 심각한 소음과 너무 답답한 가속력.
