The Battle of the Bulge (December 16, 1944, to January 25, 1945) was a major German offensive campaign on the Western Front during World War II. Initiated by the Germans with the aim of splitting the Allied forces and capturing the strategic Belgian port of Antwerp, the battle unfolded in the Ardennes region.
