Stratoskirmish is an industrial war-themed vertically scrolling shooting game. This game aims to offer an action-dense arcade-style experience with elements which encourage strategy and pre-planning. Featuring visually appealing, detailed pre-rendered 2D visuals with normal map-driven dynamic lighting.

Players control fighterplanes and combat enemy ground forces. Fighters are equipped with front-facing autoguns which can be upgraded though collecting powerups.
Fighters may also deploy 'Aerotorpedo' special weapons; a group of small, radio-command aircraft. These may be used to provide additional firepower and protection, or may be launched forward as rockets in a high-damage offensive attack to quickly destroy targets.

Players earn points by shooting and destroying enemies, and additional score may be obtained by collecting gold items dropped by some destroyed enemies and by destroying bossparts. Bonuses are awarded for survival, enemy kills, and gold item collection serving to provide additional scoring opportunities for skilled players.
