Gameplay

Casting Whispers is a first-person psychological horror game where you will need to use both sight and sound to keep yourself safe and further your investigation. You will need to close your eyes in-game to listen for clues in the environment, and keep a wary ear open for small changes in your environment. Things are not as they may seem and your senses may lie to you...

• Listening Mechanic
  Use more than sight to navigate your environment. Press and hold the Listen key to close your eyes and focus on your ears. Use this to eavesdrop on conversations through doors, listen for hidden mechanisms, or hear things where you cannot see them.

• Unique Threat

  The danger in 1195 Norman Ave has managed to remain hidden in the middle of a populated city somehow. Avoid it and confront it.

• Grounded Investigation
  Explore the various mysteries of 1195 Norman Ave to piece together a more complete image of what's going on. There are large elements of the mystery that can be missed, context not acquired, if you are not thorough.

• Linear Narrative (with some variations)

  Enjoy a linear story with multiple endings, some of which aren't obvious. Parts of Casting Whispers will actually play out a little differently based on both chance and your choices.

• 6-8 hrs of content

  Solving the mystery, surviving the unique threat, and exploring the space; with some small easter eggs as well.

• Unique Historical Setting

  It is 1961 in a fictional American city on the east coast. The 1950s are starting to fade into the 60s. It is an exciting time of possibilities, but also a time trying to ignore the sins of the past and pretend they aren't still happening...
