The Ripe Blood Anthology is a series of visual gay novels in which love, passion, sorrow, and death intertwine in unique stories. The plot of each game is self-contained, spanning genres from mystery to fantasy, or can just be everyday life with a touch of thriller.
In the first game, This World Is Just for the Two of Us, you'll have the opportunity to take on the role of Derek — the police chief in a small town. In the life of the protagonist, nothing interesting has been happening for a long time — work is calm, and personal life is in order. However, last month, he begins to notice that his boyfriend, Chris, seems to want to spend less and less time with him.
Life would have continued to roll along its familiar track, unhurriedly, if it hadn't been for what happened on Derek's uncle's birthday. That's when his younger sister, Lorelei, made an unexpected reappearance, having left the town five years ago and ceased all communication with the family. The entire evening, the girl acts oddly and has a poor grasp of her whereabouts. Toward the end of the birthday celebration, an even more unusual event takes place — all of a sudden, Derek's uncle strongly suggests that he should break up with his boyfriend, Chris.
You can influence the story and ending of this visual novel through your choices. It will depend solely on you what this adventure turns into. If you wish, a classic Chekhovian vignette will unfold before you, where "something happened, the characters haven't really done anything, and life just goes on." But if you decide to chase Carroll's "White Rabbit," you may very well uncover something unthinkable.
The game features mini-challenges, through which you can unlock piranha-thoughts — memories that can devour the main character alive. It's up to you whether it's worth listening to these bloodthirsty fish.
