Margoq's Lair is a dark 2D roguelite dungeon crawler. Engage in action-packed combat, where the exciting and dynamic spell casting combo system is at the very core, find mythical items, and fight epic bosses and elite monsters on your journey to escape the evil wizard's lair without dying even once!

Demo features

The demo features 4 levels, where players can get a good grasp of the game, including an epic boss fight to finish off the demo.
The player can try out 6 different base abilities with more than 25 combos as well.
The progress of the game will not carry over into the full game, but the demo is also not just the beginning of the full game - it is an experience of its own.

Engage in action-packed dynamic combat

Combine abilities into powerful attacks - for instance the Fireball and Shield turns into a Fire Shield, while the Fireball and Stomp turns into the Fire Nova. Add another Fireball and you fire off a devastating Meteor:

No-class progression system

Become the powerful hero of your dreams! Each playthrough you take on a randomly generated player profile, with a starting ability and a set of stats. Then as you progress through the lair, you can choose between randomly chosen abilities, which you can combine freely with each other. Want to be a melee combat character, but with capabilities of firing at range? Choose the profile with most vitality and strength, and combine close combat abilities such as Titanic Strike with ranged spells such as Fireball.

Explore Margoq's devious lair

Find your way out of a procedurally generated lair filled with deadly traps & horrifying monsters, by completing the procedurally generated quests to unlock the door to the next floor. Every floor is randomly cursed by Margoq. This means that each floor is a unique combination of level layout, curse and quest, making sure that you never play the same level twice!

Find tons of mythical loot to become a powerhouse

Slay monsters, break vases or find your way to the many hidden treasure chests found in the depths of the lair, where you can find mythical loot that makes you even more powerful.

Encounter epic boss battles

Throughout the lair, you'll meet difficult boss encounters that needs to be defeated before you can continue. All of which are powerful lieutenants of Margoq, and of course the demonic wizard himself. They will pose a great challenge for any one in their path.

Random elite and super elite monsters

But it's not just the bigger boss fights that might be difficult for the adventures. All minions in the lair can be an elite or super elite version of themselves, posing great risks to anyone not giving them the proper respect.

Permadeath and metaprogression power system

Every death in Margoq's Lair is permanent, however you earn souls during each run which can be used to gain perks in-between each playthrough, making you progressively more powerful, enabling you to get further into the lair.

Story

You are imprisoned by the malevolent wizard Margoq. You wake up on the lowest floor in his dungeon and your quest is to escape the dungeons 20 floors before Margoq takes over the world.
