General Information
Welcome to Polaris Closed Alpha 1.2, a special build created exclusively for the Polaris convention. This unique version is designed to provide players with a sneak peek into the world of our game, offering a preliminary taste of its look and feel. Please note that many of the mechanics and visual elements are not yet at the level of quality we aim to achieve. Additionally, key features like the user interface for inventory, maps, and the skill tree are either absent or in the early stages of development.
To ensure that convention attendees have the best possible insight into the game's features, we've introduced a host of mechanics, skills, and features that will typically be introduced later in the final version. Consequently, without the natural progression found in the full game, some aspects may appear more challenging or unfair if you're not accustomed to this style of gameplay.
While the music is well underway, the sound design is currently a placeholder, serving to provide some features with a semblance of impact. As a result, you might notice certain areas feeling somewhat empty due to the absence of comprehensive sound design in terms of quality and quantity.
It's important to note that the game has not yet undergone extensive testing and optimization across various PC configurations. As a result, you may encounter graphical or performance issues depending on your system.
Presently, the game is primarily optimized for use with Xbox controllers. While there is a keyboard setup available, in-game tutorials predominantly reference controller buttons. Feel free to explore our new Controller/Keyboard Configuration below for assistance.
It's worth mentioning that the skill acquisition method in this version is not representative of the final game. In the full game and the upcoming public demo, skills are earned by interacting with Playable NPCs (PNPCs) in specific scenarios, allowing you to learn their unique abilities.
Information for Streamers
Feel free to stream our alpha Demo! But please communicate the Information above. Keep in mind, this is a very early build and the release will be not earlier than end of 2025. If you wish, I'd love to join stream to talk about the dev of the game.
Known Issues
- In rare circumstances, the pushable box may become stuck in midair. To avoid this issue, push the box over the edge instead of attempting to strike it.
- Pushable boulders should typically only destroy walls when they are blasted toward them. In some instances, it is unintentionally possible to simply push the boulder against the wall to achieve the same result.
- It also might happen that the destructible Walls doesn't seem to get destroyed by the Boulder, even when it got blasted. In this case it is just a visual bug. The specific wall will no longer stand in your way.
- The destruction caused by boulders still impacts performance, leading to some performance issues during these moments.
Please feel free to report any issues and bugs in the 🪳bugreport channel on our discord server. Suggestions or ideas are alway welcome as well.
