"They say reality is just what we see, but what if what we see is only a reflection of what we cannot understand?"
DESCRIPTION:
Segment In Space 1985 is a psychological horror game that plunges you into a broken reality and a psychedelic nightmare. It is the first game in the TheEyesBeyond series, where you play as one of the missing people who have found themselves in a different dimension. Your goal is to escape this distorted world, confronting its mysterious laws, locations created from alternate realities, and unknown threats. Every choice you make in the game will influence the course of events and lead to one of many possible endings, immersing you in a world where psychedelia and reality merge into something terrifying and unpredictable.
LOCATIONS:
Each place you visit is a strange, empty remnant of a world where familiar elements twist into unknown, unsettling puzzles. Locations shift between realities, changing appearance as you alter frequencies through old analog equipment. No place remains the same: from long-abandoned buildings to dark underground spaces, each location in this universe is filled with danger and hidden meanings.
What may seem like a home could actually be a trap. In corridors where the walls move on their own and the air grows heavy, you’ll explore tangled spaces, including old archives, empty halls, or locked rooms. Here, every step could lead to either salvation or a more terrifying revelation. Be prepared to encounter eerie creatures and face unpredictable changes to your surroundings.
UNIQUE ATMOSPHERE:
The main feature of the game is the "liminality" effect — a state of in-betweenness, where reality is warped and time and space lose their familiar structure. This effect heightens the feelings of unease and uncertainty, making you feel like you're in a place where the laws of the world no longer apply. The atmosphere is filled with surreal sounds, whispers, and unclear images that appear in the most unexpected places. In every corner, something awaits you — and it's uncertain which reality you’ll enter next.
OSPIL:
OSPIL (Organization for Searching for People of International Level) is a company founded in 1968 in Sweden by the great Erik Bergkvist. The company specialized in searching for missing persons when the hope of finding them faded more and more. True professionals of their craft.
The Val-d'Or Incident:
Date: February 1, 1985:
On January 23, 1985, a group of four people disappeared near the mountains around Val-d'Or while on a picnic. Nine days of searching by all Canadian authorities yielded no results, so on February 1, 1985, the best group for finding missing persons, from the then-best organization in the world, OSPIL, arrived in the town.
And on February 1, 1985, the team began their work.
