The room is pitch black and you can only see your surroundings.
A flashlight allows you to explore a room more efficiently.
Unravel the mysteries of the room by relying on the light.

Using a flashlight will increase your visibility and may make it easier to recognize and deal with "threats."
"Threat" is not good at light. You may be able to counter it by shining a light on it.

If you continue to use a flashlight, the battery will drain. When you turn it off, the battery will continue to charge.
Just turning the flashlight on will drain the battery, so be careful when switching it on and off quickly.
