Design Philosophy
Inspired by the genre’s ability to provoke a unique mix of frustration and satisfaction, we delved into precision platformers to design a game that’s both engaging and unpredictable. Our core mechanic revolves around physics-based movement, ensuring that each action taken by the player is both deliberate and potentially surprising, with outcomes that can either aid or hinder progress.
Gameplay
Bouncing Over It features a single continuous level where players start at the bottom and must skillfully ascend to the top. The journey is fraught with precarious sections that can cause a misstep and send you tumbling down. However, falling doesn't mean game over – it simply means you have to find your way back up from where you fell.
Controls
- Movement The staff moves by bouncing off surfaces. The force of the bounce depends on where the staff makes contact.
- Control The staff’s head follows the mouse cursor, determining the direction of its movements.
- Boost To gain a boost, you need to spin the staff five times to charge it. The staff will light up when charged, and you can activate the boost with a left-click in the opposite direction of where you want to go.
