디펜스류는 다소 수동적이지만, 여러가지 전략과 조합으로 침략하는 적을 물리치는 게임이다. 하지만 이 게임은 '수동적' 인것만 맞고, '전략과 조합'은 없다. 디펜스 게임 제작에서 가장 공을 들이는 부분은 난이도 조절이다. 여러가지 방어탑과 조합, 업그레이드 순서에 따라 효율이 달라지고 그에 따른 난이도 또한 달라지기 때문이다. 하지만 이 난이도 조절을 위해서 타워 수, 위치, 종류를 지극히 제한 해 둔 그야말로 껍데기만 그럴듯하게 덮어 씌운 정답 찾기 게임이다. 특정한 시간대에 특정한 타워를 특정한 위치에 건설하지 않으면 어떤 조합을 사용해도 탈탈 털리는 것을 볼 수 있다.
