Hello and welcome !

I'm Mamat, a true passionate gamer and a new French game developer on Unreal Engine 5, and I present to you my very first game : Shades !

These last few years many FPS were not really satisfying me, so I decided to make one by myself with all my ideas and my perspective of a truly immersive first-person game, which means immersive menus, no or minimum HUD or camera effects or pop up notifications or outlined/highlighted items and interactions, like in real life, and be really free to do whatever you want in dense and beautiful environments, no invisible walls, many destructions possible for example, using different ways to complete the objectives and find solutions to problems by yourself, no backseating, minimap or floating arrows/pings/compass, and with that all the latest hardware and software technologies available on PC to have the most realistic graphics and physics for the best immersion possible.

I'm making this game first to gain experience (so please be indulgent), and to start a portfolio in game development, then hopefully in the future to change from my actual job to my dream job : being a game developer, or even better, create my own game studio, which really listens its community and that you can trust and rely on, to make all our dream games for all of us, I have so many ideas !

So based on your support, I hope this early access will give me the time and resources to make all this happen.

About Shades, it's a really immersive solo FPS with stealth infiltration, espionage and tactical extraction shooter aspects. Go stealth, or loud, in a variety of missions as a mercenary for an agency that really uses your skills to make this world better.

Synopsis :

After a few years being one of the best in the Navy SEALs, you find out it doesn't fit your expectations to make the changes needed to make this world better. So you quit to take some time alone in nature and think how you can achieve this goal. That is when a secret branch of an international agency contact you with a job offer and missions that would truly help get rid of the bad people on this planet for the greater good, by any means necessary.

For now the game may not be very optimized, so you will surely need a good and recent PC for the best experience (you can check the system requirements below), it may also lack some content and functionalities, so be aware of that before buying my early access game and then leaving a bad review please.

Currently implemented in the game, there are 4 different maps : your home/vehicle (upgradable), the secret training bunker of the agency, the agency test mission and then your first official mission, with for now a basic stealth system with simple lootable AI enemies, a money/level system, a tablet/PC with online casino games, shops, applications, dark web markets and more, 10 customizable weapons : a sniper rifle, a revolver, 2 assault rifles, 2 SMGs, 2 shotguns, 2 handguns + 4 grenades : fragmentation, contact frag, flash and smoke, several utilities/explosives, an axe, fist fighting and a push/kick/ragdoll system.

All along the development of the game, I plan to get it better optimized and add more missions, more maps and environments, more weapons, explosives, utilities and gadgets, new mechanics, gameplays and vehicles, more customizations on loadouts, vehicles and homes, many destruction possibilities and physical interactions, a more complex and smarter AI, a cool horror gamemode/campaign, and an old-school realistic skin system based on merit and grinding the game, not microtransactions.

Since I'm new in game development and all by myself for now, I will take as much time as possible to read and consider a maximum of all your suggestions, bug reports and fixes to do, to improve my game and myself as much as possible.
