Expedition - Complete passenger based routes along a variety of maps. Split into short journeys, long journeys and of course Expeditions; pick whatever train and stock you want to carry, drop off and pick up passengers!

Freight - Shunt freight across our maps; deliver or pick-up at particular stations. From coal to wheat, the Steam Wheels world needs freight! And in this mode you can pick whatever train you want to make sure the wheels of freight keep turning.

Night Mail - Deliver mail against the clock! The Steam Wheels world needs mail, and just like the steam trains of old steaming up from Euston to Edinburgh and beyond, you will need to get the most out of your loco.

Vs! - Driver ‘bosses’ have challenged you to complete routes in a race against them. They each have chosen their own custom unlockable train setup to win!

Name your driver and choose from a vast selection of avatars to personalise your experience. Put in a particular name and you may unlock a secret route (we are super excited about this!).

Choose any train you want to play with in any of the modes. Some trains will be better suited to certain tasks, but it’s totally up to you! Want to shunt freight, ferry passengers or race against the clock? Do it in any of the many trains and with any of the rolling stock options we have!

Cosy mode means you drive your trains just like a wee model railway. Account for wheel spin and gradients, but only via one small control. Accessible to all and for those who just want to play with trains.

Steam mode is where you feel the steam! Each loco will have their cab controls so you can fill the fire, balance the water and push the engine to its limits. Highly addictive, each train feels different.
