The protagonist is a freelance writer named Love Catch. Due to childhood trauma, they are unable to speak and have no combat experience. However, after saving a wounded, mysterious creature known as a Mamono, they are unexpectedly chosen to become a "Hero." Love Catch’s mission is to "persuade" an entity called the "Demon King," who is said to command the Mamono, and bring an end to the 900-year-long war against these creatures.
