A Small Goal: 400 000 000
Matters Matter aims to be the top game of the universe: to sell 400 000 000 copies, not too many, really!
"We don't need Minecraft II. We need Matters Matter."
– a Minecraft player testing Matters Matter
How does Matters Matter reinvent the game?
Fictional Universe
God said, “Let there be a pair of particles, positive, negative and their neutralization,” and there were 12 elements.
For example:
H + A = AH (like: hydrogen + oxygen = water)
AS + AH = ASH + A (silicon-based photosynthesis)
Optical Rendering
Thanks to reflections and refractions (impossible or barely possible in traditional games), a super beautiful world is yours to construct!
Try to build a crystal castle with an array of mirrors?
Hylomorphism: Total Customization
Matters Matter is inspired by Aristotle's ontology: all the world is made of only 2 kinds of things: somata (bodies, materials, molecules) / psychai (souls, forms, genes). The souls (sphere-shaped) can rule the bodies (cube-shaped). Starting with a soul, you can:
Freely craft the world!
Similar to Minecraft, but you can move things (psychokinesis).
Freely craft your own objects (items)!
Freely craft your own subjects (characters)!
Here is no prescribed model or recipe (typically in Minecraft and other crafting games).
Crafting is just to physically bond some matters into a whole. For example, to craft a table, whatever material, whatever form, whatever size... all is up to you!
In-world Interaction
The traditional method of interaction is menu interaction (out of the gaming world) – typically the inventory menu and the crafting menu in Minecraft. Instead, Matters Matter is the pioneer to implement all interactions directly in the gaming world, just as in reality.
Physical & Chemical Properties
Unlike Minecraft:
A stone shouldn't stand in the air!
A water should flow! When it gets too cold, water should turn to ice!
Matters should react in a certain condition, such as temperature, catalyst, light & electricity.
Note: Organisms in Matters Matter are S-based (silicon-based).
