Sun Wukong sacrificed himself in rebellion against the Heavenly Court, and his six spiritual roots scattered across heaven and earth, transforming into shackles that suppress the Three Realms. Five hundred years later, the Heavenly Court launched a purge of the former Journey to the West disciples under the pretext of "unrepentant demonic hearts." Pig Bajie, the sole survivor, escaped the Celestial Prison bearing the label of traitor. He must retrace the old Journey to the West path, rally former allies, and gather scattered divine weapons and artifacts to uncover the truth behind Wukong’s death and ignite a rebellion that will shake the Three Realms.

The game begins with the prologue of Sun Wukong’s fall: the Heavenly Court crushes Mount Huaguo with thunderous force, slaying Sha Wujing and imprisoning Tang Sanzang. Pig Bajie is mocked by his peers for perceived cowardice and love of life, but he accidentally receives guidance from a faint remnant of Wukong’s spiritual consciousness, becoming the spark of resistance.

As players retrace the Journey to the West path, they will explore familiar locations reconstructed and twisted by the Heavenly Court.
