Because the delivery of the Eurofima series passenger coaches was initially delayed, Austrian state operator OBB made an order of similar coaches manufactured at "Simmering-Graz-Pauker" works.

These were fitted with SGP-VS-RIC bogey capable of international traffic of up to 160km/h and were delivered between 1976-1978 equipped with folding doors and 1980-1982 with sliding doors. In the late '80s they were upgraded to reach a maximum speed of 200km/h and after 2003 through OBBs "Upgrading-Program" there were completely modernised, receiving a new interior, HVAC, power sockets, etc.
