Blockwick is a jumbled world full of colorful blocks. Connect all same-colored blocks on the board. Blue with blue, red with red, and so on. Don’t worry about the white crates though—they just get in the way.
If you get stuck on a puzzle, don’t fret. Just look for the hidden moon pearl. Finding the moon pearl in a puzzle will allow you to open the next puzzle.
The further you progress the more special blocks you’ll meet. Some are bolted down and are permanently stuck. Some blocks are asleep and can’t move until they’re woken up (set down a same-colored block next to it to wake it up). Entangled blocks are connected together by quantum forces—when one moves so do the others. Blocks that are entangled share the same symbol.
Eventually you’ll meet even more devious blocks. Sticky blocks are gooey and will stick to other blocks. You can't pick them up directly; they can only be pushed and pulled around with other blocks and crates. Caterpillar blocks are linked to each other like a train; they can only be moved with the head or the tail. Hypno blocks don’t need to be connected to solve a puzzle, but they’ll cause a lot of pain. The hypno puts any colored block to sleep if you set one down right next to it. Finally, flip blocks have six sides. When you move them, they flip to a different side, exposing a new color.
Oh, did you notice the strange glyphs on the ground? Each puzzle has three. Try to cover them all up with groups of linked blocks to master the puzzle. It’ll be more tricky, but it’s good for your brain.

같은 색깔의 블럭들끼리 모이게 배치하면 되는 퍼즐게임 스팀에 보이는 스크린샷들을 보면 알겠지만 인터페이스가 매우 간단하고 조작도 전혀 불편하지 않아서 꽤 직관적인 퍼즐게임이다. 간단해 보이고 규칙도 쉬운 퍼즐게임은 재미없다는 편견을 깨기 위해 퍼즐과 관련된 다양한 메커니즘들도 차근차근 소개시켜주는데, 단순히 블록을 원하는 위치로 움직여야 하는 다른 게임들에서는 잘 볼 수 없었던 재미있는 요소들 (잠자는 블록이나 끈적끈적한 블록 등등) 이 보여서 재미가 있었다. 게임 내 퍼즐의 수 또한 많은데, 퍼즐 개수가 기본게임 160개 + Basics 확장팩 144개 (기본게임보다 쉬운 퍼즐들이며, 본 게임이 너무 어려운 사람들을 위한 손풀기에 가깝다) 로 가격대비 퍼즐수가 꽤 많은 게임이다. 퍼즐 정답과 직접적으로 관련된 메커니즘 말고도, 이 게임의 또 다른 특이한 메커니즘으로는 달진주와 문양이 있는데, 만약 퍼즐을 풀다가 정답을 몰라 막히게 되면 퍼즐 내 달진주 (주로 블록 밑에 숨겨져 있다) 를 찾으면 다음 퍼즐로 스킵할 수 있다. (이 경우, 퍼즐을 푼 것으로는 치지 않아서 챕터를 깨는 도전과제는 해금되지 않는다). 문양은 퍼즐을 풀 때, 퍼즐을 깬 상태에서 색깔이 있는 블럭들이 바닥에 새겨진 3개의 문양을 모두 가리면 "Illumination" 이라고 표시되고, 이 상태로 깨면 레벨이 빛을 낸다. 몇몇 레벨들은 레벨 클리어와 문양 클리어를 동시에 달성할 수 있지만, 대부분은 레벨 클리어보다 문양 클리어가 어렵다. (즉, 하드모드 / 추가 도전 같은 개념이다) 결론적으로 매우 깔끔하게 잘 만든 퍼즐게임으로, 게임 내 난이도 조절도 적절하면서 가격대비 분량도 정말 혜자니 퍼즐게임 좋아하는 사람들은 한 번 해보는 걸 추천한다.
