Bygoner is a non-linear “road movie” set in a medieval world. A nameless knight travels across the southern lands of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (modern-day Ukraine) in the early 16th century.

The game consists of small story-driven novellas connected to the inhabitants of the frontier, while the main storyline focuses on the protagonist’s psychological state, enriched with visions and the mythical worldview of a medieval mind. Bygoner is a fictional word inspired by the Old English saying “let bygones be bygones”. It embodies the idea of someone who leaves everything behind.

At its core, the game focuses on exploration, interwoven with combat encounters. There is also an element of resource management essential for the journey. The player chooses their path, unlocking new areas of the world with unique events and locations.
