The map is a playground and the enemies are just another toy in it. Gain height and speed by using the enemies to the fullest as platforms and grappling points. Symbiote has a heavy emphasis on momentum. Sliding down slopes will speed you up and jumping off ramps will send you flying.

A Serious Story

Symbiote breaks the mold of the playful platformer and delivers a story with stakes. It explores themes of childhood trauma, psychosis, public land ownership, and the struggles of connecting with others as a lifelong outcast.

A Solo Dev Passion Project

Symbiote is a game developed off of the questions: "What if combat in 3D platformers engaged with the platforming mechanics?" and "What if platforming in action games wasn't just a tacked-on feature?" There's so much potential in combining the strengths of both genres into a greater whole. I developed Symbiote to finally achieve that.
