Mountains of Madness , the sequel of Chronicle of Innsmouth today unveils its release date, which is now officially set for February 16th. The game will be available on Steam for the price of 17.99€/19.99$ (with a 10% launch discount).

Chronicle of Innsmouth Deluxe Edition release on 29 September 2017
We'll be back in September concerning this terrifying revelation: COIS will be released in a Deluxe version entirely voice-acted in English!
This update will be available free for all owners of the current !
Please note that your old saved games from the original version of Chronicle Of Innsmouth will not work once you upgrade to the deluxe version.
If you feel the need to preserve your old saved games for future reference then you will have to make seperate backups of them as well as a seperate backup of the original game itself to run them on.

AGS로 만든 게임으로, H.P 러브 크래프트 신화 기반 스토리를 90년대 루카스아츠표 포인트 앤 클릭 어드벤처로 풀어냈다. 그래픽인 별로 좋은 편은 아니고 캐릭터 일러스트는 상당히 구려서 안 넣은 것만 못한 수준이지만. 90년대 루카스아츠표 게임 스타일이라 도트 그래픽이 레트로한 맛이 있어서 나쁘지는 않았고, 스토리도 러브 크래프트 신화 기반의 오리지날이라서 흥미로운 부분이 있다. 비바람이 몰아치는 밤의 인스머스 마을 풍경도 나름 음산한 느낌이 들어 러브 크래프트물 분위기를 자아내서 좋았다. 문제는 스토리의 완급 조절에 실패해서 뉴버리포트에서 진행되는 초반부는 너무 심심하고, 중반부는 스릴러처럼 진행되데가, 후반부로 넘어간 뒤에야 비로서 러브 크래프트풀답게 진행되는데. 이때의 전개가 너무 급조한 티가 많이 나는 데다가, 게임 플레이 전반적으로 NPC의 대사 의존도가 너무 커서 대화를 안 하면 스토리를 알 수 없어서 뭔가 구조적으로 되게 엉성한 상황에, 어드벤처 게임인 것 치고는 좀 과하게 어려운 게임 오버 구간을 후반부에 싹 몰아 놓아서 플레이어의 인내력을 시험하고 있다. 인디 게임이니까 어느 정도 엉성한 부분이 있을 수 있으니. 어느 정도 관대하게 보고 넘어가야 할 부분도 있겠지만 백보 양보해서 다른 건 다 그렇다 쳐도, 게임 오버 구간은 선을 넘어도 너무 심하게 넘었다. 게임 오버 구간 난이도와 구성이 너무 지랄 맞아서 게임 플레이 의욕을 팍팍 깎는데 대체 왜 이렇게 만든 건지 알 수가 없다. 무슨 포인트 앤 클릭 어드벤처 게임에서 게임 오버 구간이 4연속으로 나오냐고. 거기다 게임 오버 구간을 어떻게 헤쳐 나가야하는지 힌트는 하나도 안 주고. 죽어가면서 플레이하는 걸 전제로 해놓다니 이게 무슨 플랫포머 게임이냐. 그 미친 게임 오버 구간들만 안 나오거나, 최소한으로 줄였으면 그래도 평타는 쳤을 게임이 알 수 없는 게임 오버 구간 집착으로 인해 망작이 되어 버린 케이스다.
