Its students and teachers languish in the cells of a grim prison, and you wake among them with nothing: no wand, no books, only an old potions master on the next bunk who still remembers a few tricks.

Pick the locks. Search the cupboards. Find your wand. Then make the prison regret it ever caught a wizard.

Every fight is a puzzle

Fight with spells, not swords. Freeze a ring of skeletons with frost, chain lightning through them and burn the rest with a ring of fire. Break the crystals that shield an enemy mage. Push through to the totem that keeps raising the dead.

Fear the dark

Candles are your only friends down here. When a cold breath snuffs them out one by one, the ghosts come out to feed.

Sneak, dash and drift

Slip past the guards on quiet feet, dash out of harm's way, or turn into living mist and flow right through your enemies.

Search, brew, learn

Pick locks with a lockpick and your wand, search cabinets and bookcases, smash pottery and gather what spills across the floor into a bag sorted by rarity. Brew potions in a bubbling cauldron and grow your spells school by school, all inside one living spellbook.

Every spell is built from swarms of small animated pixels: sparks, embers, frost shards and living smoke.
