Warband is a roguelite about a frontier town that refuses to die. You are the new Steward of Thornhallow and your duty is to return the town to its' former glory. Head out to the wilds where beasts and bosses alike await you, and whilst you're out there, see if you can uncover the mystery of the Sixth Legion.

Warband is quick to pick up and get going, but will keep you chasing bigger, better runs long after you've beaten your first, and each will give you the choice to spec out a unique combination of commanders, recruits, relics and items that makes every playthrough feel fresh.

Pick a commander to lead your warband, recruit hopeful recruits for coin as you continue on your journey, unlock companions to take along with you and relics to ease (or harden) your run. Once you've got your Warband set, outfit your members with an array of items to tweak and tailor your Warband's playstyle to your liking.

The gameplay has been built to be played again and again, with no two runs alike. Relics, recruits, companions, and commanders combine into a run that can pivot on a single choice, across three distinct campaigns and a roster of leaders that each play entirely differently.

Warband sits halfway between a boss rush and a survivors-like in its gameplay. Campaigns contain twenty levels, with three planned for launch. Each of these campaigns has its' own roster of enemies to defeat, posing different threats and challenges to you and your Warband, and each holding its' own secrets and story beats. Across these campaigns there are twelve mainline bosses to beat, four per campaign, and more to be found off the beaten track.

Once you beat the main three campaigns, you gain access to the mainline boss-rush campaign that lets you play all the mainline bosses in a row, and after beating that, the full boss-rush which contains all of the secret bosses too! 

You've done well, you've beaten your foes, you've recovered some coin, and you've spent it all on fancy items and fresh new faces... oh no! Your coin at game-end is added to the Thornhallow coffers, and you can use it to rebuild the Keep and fancy up your personal quarters. After all, you might be here a while whilst you investigate what happened to the Sixth Legion. 

The Sixth Legion were a renowned Warband that marched out of Thornhallow ten years ago. They walked out and never walked back. Little information was ever recovered regarding what happened, but through your campaign runs you will find scraps of information that you can piece together to better understand what went down that fateful day.
