Just line them up, follow the thread, and keep writing from there.

Everyone’s happy.
Clap, clap, clap.

But I can’t do that.

Because this story is far too ordinary.
So ordinary that even I can’t stand it.

If I told you this was a thrilling suspense story, packed with one climax after another, then by the time you reached the end, you would probably... well...
Maybe you wouldn’t be furious, but you’d at least be disappointed, wouldn’t you?

Ah.
Without meaning to, I’ve gone and written another thing I don’t know how to recommend to anyone.

After all, in this life of mine—not long, but not exactly short either—I’ve learned a little about this thing called “expectation.”

For example, coming to a certain street with a certain impression, a certain expectation,
only to find it isn’t what you imagined.

For example, quietly beginning to expect something from another person,
only to find they aren’t what you imagined.

For example, the world itself,
and finding it isn’t what you imagined.

So I can’t build up your expectations here.
That wouldn’t match what this story is about.
