GodWright is a single-player pixel-art god game and civilization sandbox. Shape the land, place people and creatures, and watch villages grow into kingdoms. Follow a family's story, help a settlement survive, or unleash a disaster and see how the world responds.

Create, protect, or destroy

• Raise mountains, carve coastlines, and paint forests, deserts, swamps, and other biomes.
  
• Seed humans, elves, orcs, and dwarves, then add buildings and resources to help their settlements grow.
  
• Bless a creature, bring rain, or intervene with dragons, tornadoes, meteors, volcanoes, and black holes.
  
• Possess a creature to control it directly, or return to watching the world from above.

Watch civilizations change

Villagers gather food and materials, take up professions, and build their settlements. Trade routes connect towns; kingdoms fight wars, form alliances, and face rebellions. As villages meet the requirements for new technology, they progress through eight ages, from Stone to Future, with new buildings and machines along the way.

Inspect individual creatures to see their traits, equipment, and family connections. Follow kings and their descendants, watch rival kingdoms rise, and read the world's events in the Chronicle.

Choose your kind of sandbox

Play freely without a required objective, follow guided goals, or choose a scenario with a specific challenge. World Laws let you adjust systems such as war, aging, reproduction, wildlife, and disasters. Build a peaceful world, test a strange idea, or see how much a kingdom can survive.

Save your worlds and return to them later. Capture moments with the screenshot tool, track in-game achievements, and experiment with mods that change buildings, powers, creatures, and sprites using INI files and PNG images.
