Crystal Cosmos is a side scrolling color-based space shooter. You need to match your ship's color to your enemies color in order to destroy them.

The game takes place in the eight Kingdoms of the Crystal Cosmos, each one is ruled by a different Gem Lord. For eons they have fought each other for supremacy.
You play as Lord Alabastar, ruler of Alabastion, the Kingdom of Light and Order. Your kingdom has been invaded by Obsidious, Lord of Darkness and Chaos. You lose the battle against the invaders. Shattered into nine pieces, the core of Alabastar narrowly escapes.
You must now travel to the eight kingdoms to retrieve the missing pieces. Break down the door of Obsitadel, and exact revenge.

한 나라의 왕(혹은 여왕?)이던 흰색보석 Alabastar가 검은색보석 Obsidious에게 자신의 모든 조각을 흡수당하고 자신까지 흡수당하기 직전에 탈출한 후 그에 복수하기위해 길을 떠나는 내용 게임자체는 흔한 플래시느낌의 횡스크롤 슈팅게임이다만 방향키를 써서 빨강, 파랑, 노랑의 세가지 색깔로 변환할수 있으며 각 색깔에 따라 그 색과 매치되는 적만 데미지를 입힐수있는 형식이다. (노란색 적 = 노란색 공격, 보라색 적 = 빨강 혹은 파란색 공격, 녹색 적 = 노랑 혹은 파란색 공격) 적을 제거하고 나오는 깨진 보석 파편은 먹을수 있으며 모은 보석조각들은 상점에서 업그레이드나 스킬(폭탄같은 개념)을 얻는데 사용할수 있다, 또한 왼쪽상단의 스팀펑크스러운 디자인의 관 안에 무지개색의 연료가 차오르는데 F를 써서 장착한 스킬을 사용할수 있다. 무기역시 적을 죽이다보면 등장하며 흔히 볼수있는 산탄총같은 확산탄, 적을 통과해서 맵 끝까지 갔다가 다시 한번 되돌아오는 탄환, 끝까지 가지않고 중간에 넓은 범위로 폭발하는 폭발탄이 있으며 개인적으로 폭발탄이 가장 강했던것같다. 상점에서 갑옷(Armor) 업그레이드를 한 뒤 게임을 하면 갑옷만 사라진 상태여도 하트로 갑옷 한칸을 충전할수있다. 사실상 체력 6개로 게임을 진행할수있는거니 꼭 업그레이드 해주자.
