As Luke Skywalker and the Rebel Alliance struggle to defeat Darth Vader and the Empire, a new threat arises. Dark Prince Xizor, head of the Black Sun crime syndicate, aspires to take Darth Vader's place at the Emperor's side. To do that, he must eliminate young Skywalker. As Dash Rendar, it's up to you to protect Luke and help the Alliance defeat the evil Xizor. Watch out for infamous bounty hunters and deadly stormtroopers! May the Force be with you!

에피소드 5와 6 사이를 배경으로 소설 Shadows of the Empire를 기반으로 한 슈팅 게임입니다. 소설은 주인공 루크/레아 일행과 악당 베이더/Xizor의 이야기를 중심이지만 여기서는 돈과 명예욕으로 살아가는 (다르게 말하면 덜 착한 할 솔로) 조연 캐릭터 Dash Rendar의 이야기를 다룹니다. 사실상 소설의 곁다리 이야기를 다루기 때문에 소설 이야기를 모르고 그냥 하면 스토리가 뭔가 끊기고 심심할겁니다. 하지만 우습게도 게임 스토리는 사실상 평행세계 수준으로 소설/만화와는 딴판이라는거지만 옛날 게임이니 그러려니 합니다. 곁다리 이야기를 알아보는 건 좋았지만 일단, 이 게임에는가장 치명적인 문제가 있습니다. 조작감이 XX같습니다. 원래 N64게임이라 그런지 몰라도 이식을 뭐로 한건지 키 바인딩이 영 다루기 힘들더군요. 그런데 키를 설명해주지도 않으니 처음하실때 Esc를 눌러서 키 바인딩을 (그나마 편하게) 바꾸고 시작하세요. 마우스/키보드로 동시에 이동이 되기 떄문에 낙사하거나 전투기를 어디 꼴아박을떄는 얼마나 열불이 나던지, 시스의 다크사이드 훈련기인줄만 알았습니다. TPS/전투기 뭐 이런거 하시려면 다른 PC 전용 게임을 하시는걸 백번 추천합니다. 이런 분들에게 추천합니다 *소설/코믹스 버전의 Shadows of the Empire를 읽어봤고 더 즐기고 싶다 (이런 사람이 국내에 또 있을까 싶다만) *스타워즈를 너무 좋아해서 삐융삐융만 해도 좋다 *고전게임에 익숙해서 근성을 가지고 있다 예전에 플레이했던 Dark Forces에 비해서도 좋은 게임이라 하지는 못하겠지만 충분히 흥미로운 면은 있던 게임이었습니다. 하지만 다른 사람들에게 추천하라 하면 음...너무 오래되었고 이식도 딱히 잘되었다고는 못하겠는지라 망설여지네요. 진정한 스타워즈 슈팅을 원하시면 차라리 Battlefront 2 (2005)를 사서 모드 덕지덕지 추가하는게 나을지도 모르겠습니다.
