In the early 21st century, as the environment on earth continues to deteriorate and untainted food sources become extremely difficult to find, a global famine has turned long-held civilizations upside down. The governments have since then been in charge of the acquisition and distribution of food for their people, with most borders closed for security reasons.
Now the year is 2036. In the city of Iden, every piece of food entering resident areas must pass a required set of tests, executed by skilled government workers. You, as one of the newly-recruited food inspectors, will carry out your duty 24/7 alone in a booth. Even though it is considered one of the most desired occupations in Iden, what you want from it is a bit different — an escape from this blockaded city.

2036년, 지구 환경이 계속 악화되면서 오염되지 않은 식량원을 찾기가 매우 어려워졌고, 대부분의 국경은 보안상의 이유로 폐쇄되었으며, 정부가 자국민의 식량 획득과 배급을 통제하는 세상. 반동분자의 아들임에도 불구하고 통제 국가 이덴의 식품 검사관으로 취업하는데 성공한 주인공 네드 크로포드가 되어 다양안 식품 검사를 진행하는 게임. 페이퍼 플리즈의 영향을 받은 게임으로, 국경을 통과하려는 사람들의 여권을 검사하는 입국 심사관이 아니라 국내에 들어오는 식품에 다양한 검사를 시행하는 식품 검사관이 된다는 차이점이 있으며, 페이퍼 플리즈 처럼 입국 심사 과정에서 다양한 사람들과 상호 작용을 할 순 없지만, 높은 고도에 위치한 식품 검사 부스에 음식을 배달해주는 배달원들과 대화는 가능함. 이야기를 진행하면서 검사를 잘 진행하고, 국가에 복종하여 모범적인 검사관이 될지, 아니면 저항세력과 손을 잡고 억압적인 국가에서 탈출할지 선택할 수 있음(페이퍼 플리즈가 생각나는 플롯이지만, 스토리 자체는 꽤 흥미로웠음) 식품 검사가 처음엔 쉽다가 점점 어려워지지만, 학습 곡선이 나름 완만한 편이어서 시스템 숙지만 잘 하면 후반부에도 S등급을 받는게 그렇게 어렵진 않음(팁: 게임을 진행하다 보면 물통에 물을 채워서 무게를 맞춰야 하는 업무가 나오는데, 그냥 물통에 물을 꽉 채우고 버리면 점수도 안 깎이고 편함. 또 세균 검사가 너무 번거로우면 그냥 살균 처리 하고 다른 검사만 진행 하면 됨.) 디스토피아물 마니아로서 개인적으론 꽤 재밌게 했던 게임으로, 이 게임만의 칙칙한 디스토피아 분위기가 꽤 매력적으로 느껴져서 업적 올클까지 했음. 한글화가 되있진 않지만, 그래도 디스토피아 게임을 좋아한다면 한번 해보는 걸 추천함.
