Belle Durchdenwald is a socially anxious recluse and bookworm who grapples with recurring nightmares of the incident that changed the trajectory of her life. Her life is unexpectedly turned upside-down when a series of irregular events disrupt her wedding day, eventually culminating in her worst fear coming to fruition. Everything seems to be going downhill until she’s whisked away from her fate by a hulking werewolf who identifies herself as “Otsana the Lone.” As past bonds are thrown into jeopardy and new connections begin to crystallize, she is forced to come to terms with not only her newfound identity, but also her growing feelings for her protector, all while gruesome murders begin to plague the Devil’s Jawbone.

Meanwhile, Alverne Wulfrun must grapple with what’s happened to her young friend and how it’s affected her meticulously constructed web of plans. As tensions rise and new threats present themselves, she will have to decide who to save, who to sacrifice, and ultimately, who to trust.
