The player is searching for an item of their choosing: A fabled talisman said to belong to one of the many gods of this world, a lost tome that once belonged to a long-passed relative, or a mage who is supposed to have great prowess, enough so to cure this seemed curse of bad luck plaguing the player.

Not far into this journey, the player falls into peril and is rescued by a strange satyr who offers shelter from the mounting blizzard outside, and even some information on the player's item of choice.
