Hunter is having a very rough week. They've just started a new career as a police officer at the Axon City Police Department, except they've been trained as a conflict de-escalation officer and aren't allowed to carry any weaponry. This has not gone down well with their partner Ember, a fire elemental who usually solves problems by chucking a fireball at it and cleaning up the mess afterwards.

If workplace drama wasn't enough, the city has become embroiled in a massive conspiracy involving corrupt government officials, a cult of mysterious witches and an army of militarised pirates who want nothing more than to reduce the city to a smoking pile of ash. Oh, and Hunter also appears to be slowly transforming into a mermaid!

Will Hunter be able to work out what's going on with their transformation before it's too late and they wind up stuck as a woman forever? Probably not, but maybe they'll find a way back to their old self! There's a first time for everything, you never know!
