On the day of his long-awaited bracer exam, Nacht Weiss, an ex-jaeger in Crossbell meets a girl with an unusual outfit.

Her name is Chloe Barnett.

Chloe comes from the Liberl Kingdom to obtain her bracer qualification in Crossbell.

Although the two have polar opposite personalities, they both undergo the bracer exam together as they head to the Geofront.
