The story takes place in the mid-1980s. A young student named Konstantin has just finished his second semester and now has to complete a summer work assignment. His choices are limited: either spend a week digging potatoes under the scorching sun or go to a camp to look after children. As you might guess, the protagonist chooses the latter and heads to a camp under the supervision of Olga Dmitrievna.

First and foremost, Kostya will have to learn what responsibility truly means. Taking care of children is hard work, and the full weight of this duty is something the protagonist has yet to experience. Each child is a unique individual with their own story that Kostya must understand in order to unite the group. But that’s only the beginning, at some point, Kostya uncovers a terrible secret surrounding the camp Sovenok. He would be faced with a task: to dispel the unseen darkness.
