Tobari the sparrow and Sei the crow, secretly in love, survived as companions in the city by scavenging human garbage from day to day. Sei provided for them both, and when gentler Tobari disliked the smell of urban offerings, it seemed a simple solution for Sei to fly into unfamiliar mountains to gather purer foods.
